Letter Portrait Project

We watched a TED Talk about the ways of seeing the art and design in the world around us. I definitely learned a lot from it, like how things look different if you look at it from other perspectives. To create this project, I went around the school (inside and out), and took pictures of objects that looked like the letters in my name. After I took these, I went into Photoshop and put them all in the correct sequence, then made them black and white. I learned a lot from this project. How to use simple tools in Photoshop, and how to see things in everything. If I was to do anything differently, I would get better pictures. This was pretty much a practice, so if I was to do it over again, I would get better pictures. Not just from school, but from everywhere I go.

With this edit, I selected the brush tool, lowered the opacity and hardness by quite a lot, selected a color, and simply just colored over her original hair. Then, in the layer selections, I chose soft light.  Lowering the opacity helped me create the gorgeous pastel look. I erased what I needed to in the end.

With this edit, I took the pencil tool and made a rough selection. Then, I set the feather pixels to 3, pressed Ctrl+U, and played around with the colors. I decided that wasn't enough, and made a galaxy instead. I pulled different images off the internet, erased what i didn't need, lowered the opacity, and merged the layers. Now she has the universe in her eyes.
