What is the value of light and dark? It helps portray the mood and emotion in the art. If art was all one tone of light or dark, then there would be no character.
I chose to draw my idol, Stevie Nicks. Drawing her was very hard and I did hit quite a lot of bumps on the road. I think that she turned out pretty great in the end.
